MH Hurricanes
2006
The Mountain Home Hurricane Swim Team started in 2002 with 41 swimmers. At that time there was no competitive swim team in Mountain Home. Amy Normandy was teaching swim lessons at the Racquet Club and her top kids had nowhere to go. There was a definite lack of trained swimmers coming up through the ranks in high school swimming. A suggestion was made to enter the Amateur Athletic Union and Coach Hope Normandy signed onto the league. Bruce Bell helped with the team, working with the beginning swimmers group twice a week. By the third year of existence the team exploded to over 100 swimmers and added more coaches.
